Southwest Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
All classes take place from 7 to 8:30 PM Arizona time.
Objective: Finding freedom from ingrained and often catastrophic patterns of thought and behavior.
Practicing mindfulness is clinically proven to be effective. Check out the PubMed biomedical research on mindfulness.
This curriculum embraces the concept of holistic health, viewing the body, mind, and spirit as interconnected. A disruption in one area can affect the others, making it critical to maintain balance. As a participant in our program, you will learn to see yourself through this lens, gaining a deep understanding of how to nurture your holistic well-being.
Mindfulness involves maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment through a gentle, nurturing lens.
Mindfulness is the practice of being present in the moment without judgment. It involves fully engaging with your surroundings and observing your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without reacting to them. Mindfulness can be practiced during meditation or in everyday activities, such as cooking, cleaning, or walking.
Mindfulness can help people avoid destructive habits and responses. It can also help people be more present and aware of where they are and what they're doing, not overreact or become overwhelmed by what's going on around them.

According to Jon Kabat-Zinn, trust is one of seven fundamental attitudes of mindfulness that can be consciously cultivated through practice. Trust is a sense of assurance in the wisdom of the body, heart, and mind to manage itself. It can bring about a deep sense of peace in our lives.
The triangle of awareness involves learning to separate and distinguish what is felt in the body from what is thought in the mind, as well as separating and distinguishing thoughts from emotions (feelings and moods). With practice, you will learn to experience the three components of the triangle as distinct entities.
The MBSR program aims to equip you with essential skills for managing stress, anxiety, and various challenges you may encounter. This program combines mindfulness meditation, gentle yoga, and group dialogue to help you cultivate a more compassionate and present relationship with your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations. It consists of eight weekly online sessions, each lasting one and a half hours, as well as a full-day retreat. Additionally, private coaching is available.
